Target is my one stop shop, and it can be for you too! I know many of us have a busy life and don’t always have time to drive around to chase deals at every store. I love shopping at Target and I have so much fun doing so. My most favorite part about shopping and couponing at Target is being able to stack on the savings. Target offers various ways to save money and I am here to help you get more bang for your bucks.
So sit down, relax, get your pen and paper to take good notes. You will soon become a super Target saver and eventually become a huge Target fanatic!
1.) Target Red Card
Target offers two types of Red Cards one of them is a debit card and the other one is a credit card. Let me tell you the differences and similarities.
- Both cards will save you 5% every time you use it in store and online
- You will get free shipping with any online purchase
- You get an extra 30 days for returns
- The Red Card debit is linked to your regular checking account (Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America etc) Therefore every time you use your Red Card debit at Target it will deduct the amount from your checking account. The transaction will process as a check so it can take between 1-3 business days for the amount to be deducted from your account.
- The Red Card credit is a credit card in which you need to apply for, the credit limit will depend on your credit score. Every time you use your Red Card credit you will get a monthly bill. The interest rate is currently 22.90% that is a high interest rate, so be on time with your payments.
How can I get a Red Card?
You can apply for it online on Target.Com or in store.
For theDebit Card- you will need to take in a void check and a valid I.D
The process shouldn’t take that long, you will do it at check out. You will get a temporary Red Card which is just your receipt, but you will be able to use it that same day!
For the Credit Card- you will need to know your social security number and have a valid I.D. The process shouldn’t take that long. If you get approved for the credit card a long receipt will print, if you didn’t qualify a very small receipt will print and the cashier will tell you to call the number to ask why you didn’t get approved. There’s a high possibility that if you didn’t get approved is because of your low credit score.
2.) Reusable Bag Incentive
Bring your own reusable bag and save .05 cents per bag you use. It can be ANY reusable bag, Targets sells their reusable bags for just $1.
3.) Target Mobile Coupons
Sign up for Target’s Mobile coupon offers! Its very simple just text the word
“OFFERS” to 827-438 and you will get a link to sign up!
You can stack a Target mobile coupon with a manufacturer coupon plus Cartwheel on a single item.
Mobile coupons can only be redeemed once for one item only, after you have used your mobile coupon that offer will gray out and say “redeemed” and you will no longer be able to use it.
Text message rates may apply depending on your carrier, Target does provide this for free.
Also Sign up to receive Target baby coupons sent to your phone. Simply text “BABY” to 827-438 and follow the link to sign up. You will now receive baby coupons whenever they come along.
4.) Target Printable Coupons
You can print Target store coupons from Coupons.Target.Com search what department you are looking a coupon for and should be able to see a few. There’s a limit of 2 prints per computer. You are allowed to stack 1 Target printable coupon, 1 Manufacturer coupon and 1 Cartwheel offer per item.
5.) Cartwheel by Target
It is a mobile app (also available on desktop) in which you can add percent off coupons to your Cartwheel barcode.
You can find offers for every department in the store, Percent offers range from 5% up to 60% off,
Offers include store brands as well (Up&Up, Market Pantry, Archer Farms) Even offers for the Target Cafe!
There’s hundreds of offers every day, Cartwheel offers will apply to 4 items per offer per transaction and you have a limit of 6 transactions per day.
6.) Stacking Coupons at Target
This is my favorite part about couponing at Target, we get to stack store coupons with manufacturer coupons. Target allows you to use:
- 1 Target coupon (mobile, printable, from Sunday paper, peelie),
- 1 Manufacturer coupon and
- 1 Cartwheel offer per item.
Limit of 4 like coupons per transaction.
This is a demonstration on how you can stack the savings at Target. The department coupon is for example “$5 off $30 Grocery purchase Target coupon”
7.) Gift Card Deals
I love shopping at Target when they offer gift cards for purchasing certain items. Every week in the ad you will be able to see some (but not all) gift card deals happening that week. While in store pay attention to all gift card deals that are not advertised.
Always use a coupon database to locate coupons for the products that are part of the gift card deals. Remember to stack Target coupons, Manufacturer coupons and Cartwheel offers to maximize your savings.
Target always has items on clearance, you can find these items on the end caps that are facing the walls of the store. However you can also find clearance items on their regular shelves just look for those red stickers.
Use a coupon database to locate coupons to use to score some very sweet deals.
Target clearance vary by store, meaning that what one store has on clearance might not be at the other store. Items are limited as they will sell out fast.
9.) Price Cuts
Target has temporary price cuts on various products in the store. Its not clearance! Its just period of time that the item will be cheaper than it’s regular price. It will return to its retail price after the price cut offer if over. You will see price cut labels in yellow!
10.) Sale Prices
Sale prices aren’t always cheaper than the retail price, it just means that the item is being promoted that week(s)
